Marketing Lead

We’re building ethical infrastructure, and are seeking a Marketing Lead to ensure the world knows about it.

Tasks

Strategy:

• Campaigns & Content: Plan and implement marketing campaigns & content strategies by staying attuned to internet culture and trends.
• Iterate on Proven Formats: Don’t reinvent the wheel. Identify top-performing strategies/formats and adapt them for Thaura. Test, iterate, and double down on what hits.
• Creator Outreach: Identify and recruit UGC creators, influencers, and commentators who engage with the same audiences we want to reach.
• Navigate Risk Smartly: We're going to critique Big Tech. When we do so, we need to ensure the messaging is bold but legally safe (With help of our lawyer).

Social Media & Community Engagement:

• Social Media Management: Manage brand presence across all platforms.
• Flexible Brand Voice: Maintain our core values but switch tones when needed; Witty and fast on TikTok, serious and insightful on LinkedIn.
• Amplify & Engage: When a creator posts about us, engage heavily. Make them feel supported so they become repeat advocates.
• Community Engagement: Respond to and engage with customers on social media and community channels.
• Content Coordination: Be the main point of contact for freelance clippers, designers, and more. Keep the pipeline moving so we can produce high-quality fast, supporting both our owned channels and creator collaborations.

Growth & Partnerships:

• Strategic Outreach: Reach out to potential partners and influencers who align with our mission.
• Drive Growth Through PR & Earned Media: We hit 160k users through earned media. You’ll build relationships with journalists and podcasters who care about ethical tech, securing coverage for Thaura.
• Activate Events & Communities: Plan our presence at key summits and gatherings (e.g. MozFest or WebSummit). Make real connections and capture content opportunities.

Performance Tracking:

• Focus on What Matters: Track Downloads, Daily Active Users (DAU), and UGC Volume. These are your north stars. Secondary metrics include engagement rates and follower growth.
• Listen to the Room: Monitor comments and DMs daily. If sentiment shifts, adjust tone and strategy weekly. Data tells us what’s working; community feedback tells us why.

Requirements

• Internet Native: You've lived on Social Media. You understand meme culture, viral mechanics, and how to spot a trend before it peaks.
• Growth-Obsessed Mindset: You understand that distribution is king. You’re comfortable testing multiple pitches and formats rapidly, killing what doesn’t work, and scaling what does.
• Tech-Savvy: You’re comfortable with analytics tools, automation software, and modern marketing stacks. You love finding efficient ways to work.
• Hands-On & Delegative Leadership: You can edit a quick video or design a graphic yourself, but preferably you delegate to freelancers or others to scale.
• Strong Written Voice: You can write a witty caption for Instagram and a thoughtful article for LinkedIn with equal ease. Tone-switching is second nature.
• Relationship Builder: You have a naturally good at connecting with people - whether it’s pitching a journalist, coordinating an event, or managing a creator relationship.
• Analytical Mindset: You have an analytical mind but lead with empathy. You can spot trends, identify bottlenecks, and use insights to improve operations rather than just reacting to them.
• Adaptable & Flexible: You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities shift quickly. You are comfortable wearing multiple hats and adjusting your focus as needed.
• Good Vibes: You bring positivity and collaboration to the team. You lift others up and make work feel energizing, not draining.
• Experience: Background in marketing or social media management preferred. Experience in AI/SaaS is a plus, but experience with influencer marketing, creator relations, or earned media/PR is highly valued.
• Language Skills: Native or fluent proficiency in English. Arabic is a big bonus.
