Basic

routines for
gas/steam

Onshore
FTW
Certicate
(within six
months) to
be supplied
by the
supplier
before
mobilizing
the
candidates.
2–3 years
of work
experience
in the Oil
and Gas
field.
ï· Inspection and Diagnostics:
- Conduct
visual and hands -on inspections of all mechanical equipment (pumps,
compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, etc.).
- Identify
mechanical faults and areas of concern that require repairs or replacement
during the shutdown.
- Perform
diagnostic checks using tools, gauges, and test equipment to assess the
condition of machinery.
ï· Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
- Perform
preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and
checking for wear and tear on equipment.
- Carry
out corrective maintenance (CM) to repair or replace faulty mechanical
parts.
ï· Troubleshooting:
- Identify
the root cause of mechanical failures and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Ensure
that the shutdown activities address both immediate concerns and long -term
reliability improvements.
ï· Dismantling and Reassembly:
- Dismantle
equipment as required for repair, modification, or replacement of parts.
- Reassemble
machinery according to manufacturer specifications and in accordance with
safety protocols.
ï· Safety Protocols:
- Adhere
strictly to safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all
personnel during the shutdown.
- Use
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/tagout (LOTO)
procedures.
- Report
unsafe conditions or actions immediately to supervisors.
ï· Equipment Calibration:
- Calibrate
mechanical equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure
all equipment operates within the specified parameters upon
re -commissioning.
ï· Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain
accurate records of all work carried out during the shutdown.
- Provide
detailed reports on the condition of machinery, repairs completed, and any
challenges encountered.
ï· Collaboration:
- Work
closely with other departments like electrical, instrumentation, and
control technicians to ensure all systems work together seamlessly.
- Coordinate
with supervisors, engineers, and other personnel to ensure shutdown
activities are completed on time and in budget.
ï· Equipment Testing:
- After
repairs, conduct functionality tests and ensure all systems are running
optimally before the plant is restarted.
- Test
and verify pressure, temperature, and mechanical load conditions.
ï· Post -Shutdown Activities:
- Ensure
that all maintenance tasks are fully documented for future reference.
- Assist
with equipment recommissioning and startup processes after the shutdown is
completed.
SKILLS
Technical
Knowledge: Proficiency in mechanical engineering, particularly in pumps,
compressors, turbines, boilers, and other essential equipment used in oil and
gas facilities.
Certification: Relevant certifications like API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspector), API
570 (Piping Inspector), or OSHA safety certifications may be
required.
Experience: Several years of experience in a
mechanical role in the oil and gas sector, particularly in maintenance during
shutdowns.
Problem -Solving: Strong troubleshooting
and diagnostic skills.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work in
challenging environments (e.g., offshore platforms, remote locations) and lift
heavy parts or tools.
