NPosition Type Management JOB SUMMARY The position is accountablefor proactively soliciting and handling sales opportunities.Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashionfor proper service delivery. Assists in leading all day-to-dayactivities related to sales with a focus on building long-term,value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of salesobjectives. Achieves personal sales goals. CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience - 2-year degree from an accrediteduniversity in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel andRestaurant Management, or related major; 3 years experience in thesales and marketing or related professional area. OR - 4-yearbachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing,Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 1 yearexperience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Building Successful Relationships thatGenerate Sales Opportunities - Works collaboratively withoff-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts arecoordinated, complementary and not duplicative. - Builds andstrengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enablefuture bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAMtrips, trade shows, etc. - Develops relationships within communityto strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities. -Manages and develops relationships with key internal and externalstakeholders. - Provides accurate, complete and effective turnoverto Event Management. Managing Sales Activities - Participates insales calls with members of sales team to acquire new businessand/or close on business. - Executes and supports the operationalaspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writingcontract, customer correspondence). Using Knowledge of MarketTrends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue -Identifies new business to achieve personal and location revenuegoals. - Understands the overall market - competitors’strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc.and knows how to sell against them. - Closes the best opportunitiesfor the location based on market conditions and location needs. -Gains understanding of the location’s primary targetcustomer and service expectations; serves the customer byunderstanding their business, business issues and concerns, tooffer better business solution. Providing Exceptional CustomerService - Supports the company’s service and relationshipstrategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellencethroughout each customer experience. - Services our customers inorder to grow share of the account. - Executes and supports thecompany’s customer service standards. - Providesexcellent customer service consistent with the daily service basicsof the company. - Sets a positive example for guest relations. -Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality andservice levels. - Marriott International is an equal opportunityemployer.
