Performance Measurement - Asset Management

Our client is a large sovereign wealth fund who is based in the Middle East, who is looking for a performance attribution professional to help produce accurate and timely investment performance reports, carry out complex ad-hoc analysis for management and provide input for improving current processes, systems and data analysis. 


ResponsibilitiesScope of Work

• Demonstrates technical specialist skills in the assigned area.
• Makes decisions regarding performance reporting in consultation with more senior colleagues.
• Guides junior colleagues and reviews their work.

Post Investment Review

• Analyse outcomes from performance and attribution reports and determine reasons for fluctuations to discuss with Investment teams and provide recommendations and/or insights.

Continuous Improvement

• Pursue and participate in the continuous development and enhancement of analysis and reporting deliverables (e.g., project work) to meet business requirements and to increase efficiency through automation or system upgrades.
• Executes complex analyses which involves various data sources, data quality issues and develops new methodologies.

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with back and front office to ensure accurate and timely data is received as input for reports and that outcomes are appropriately communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to attain relevant information to ensure accurate reporting and leverage the expertise of other internal Departments.

Policies, Procedures & Systems

• Implement approved departmental processes and procedures, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Front Office Support

• Work with Heads of Investment teams to understand security/investment attributes within the portfolio and benchmark interpretation for performance/attribution reporting and provide technical support to Management and Investment teams as required.

Data Management & Quality Control

• Introduce necessary checks and balances (e.g., data reconciliations) to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the data that is used in the performance reporting.

Knowledge Development

• Keep up to date with relevant developments in own field of expertise, define knowledge gaps in own Department/discipline.

Report Processing

• Generate investment performance and attribution reports to facilitate the review of the investment performance at investment level, manager level, portfolio level and fund level in accordance with the firms policies and procedures.
• Processes reports and introduces necessary checks and balances to ensure completeness and accuracy, review junior colleagues’ reports.

 
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSKnowledge and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or equivalent from a reputable and recognized university
• CIPM designation preferable

Minimum Experience:

• 7+ years of relevant progressive professional experience in performance reporting.
