The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role includes troubleshooting electrical faults, supporting plant operations and maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with electrical and HSE standards.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
Troubleshoot and repair:
Motors and pumps
Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Switchgear and transformers
Power distribution systems (LV/MV)
PLC and SCADA-related electrical components
Inspect, test, and maintain electrical panels, breakers, relays, and control circuits.
Assist in plant start-up, shutdown, and commissioning activities.
Monitor plant electrical performance and identify potential failures.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics.
Coordinate with operations, mechanical, and instrumentation teams to minimize downtime.
Maintain maintenance records, reports, and spare-parts inventory.
Support emergency breakdown maintenance on a shift basis.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work systems.
Diploma / ITI / Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
3–5 years (or as specified) of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, or desalination plants. Oil & Gas / industrial backgrounds are preferred.
