Job Description - Quality Assurance Engineer

Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
To plan and follow inspection plans to check and prevent passing on defects at various stages of supply chain. Beginning with incoming materials & parts from suppliers, during manufacturing and at final inspection before the products are delivered to customers.
Prepare and follow approved plan for inspection of purchased incoming components, assemblies and raw materials related to the product manufactured
Perform inspection as per inspection plans, prepare reports and share with the related internal and external customers after approval.
Ensure compliance with company quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, including local/international safety regulations, policies and procedures while carrying out inspection activities.
Review defects found during manufacturing or in products returned by customers related to receiving / in-process/ final inspection, prepare records and carry out root cause analysis and prevention from recurrence.
Follow continual improvement in product and processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency of Quality Function.
Others which are not limited to above and will be communicated from time to time as per need of the organization, which may include visits to suppliers, customers and related agencies providing products and services.
Knowledge related to Mechanical Engineering products and processes.
Good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ability to read and understand requirements in product technical drawings and documents.
Competent to carrying out measurement related to mechanical components and assemblies using conventional and modern measurement tools and techniques.
Ability to use, modify and prepare procedures, standards and formats related to inspection and reports related quality functions as a minimum.
Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills: ability to take initiative to solve present or prevent potential problems and ability to prevent problem recurrence.
Sound knowledge of concepts related to Mechanical Engineering manufacturing processes.
Sound knowledge and ability to read, interpret mechanical Engineering drawings containing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and understand the fit, form and function of various parts and features.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience and ability to choose, select appropriate conventional as well as modern measurement instruments and methods to measure and report observations of inspected parts and assemblies.
Proficiency in Data collection, processing, analysis and presenting conclusive results.
Proficiency in use of computers for day today word, number processing and presentation in MS Office tools.
Knowledge/ Experience of working in ISO certificated companies, having related training in preparation of documentation and performing audits will be an added advantage.
