3. JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

Build and configure, Facility/Plant/Area/Machine hierarchy, Detailed machine sketches, measurement points, measurement parameters for each point, Set alarm and danger points for each parameter, Transducer parameters in the condition monitoring software AMSsuite, ADRE, System1, GE 3500 system.

4.1 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


Vibration monitoring and analysis, oil analysis



  • Build and configure oil analysis system with sample oil analysis, Machine hierarchy in AMSsuite

  • Schedule, configure and manage / execute Vibration monitoring routes using ADRE, AMSsuite and portable vibration data collectors.

  • Generate exception reports, equipment which need attention and conduct Vibration analysis using ADRE, System1 and AMSsuite. Set Priorities and Communicate results of analysis. Generate Monthly reports


Machinery health assessment and Critical decision taking



  • Assess the health of machinery during equipment start-ups, overhauls and plant emergencies and identifies abnormal machine conditions. Considered subject matter expert and provides analysis of machines usability and functionality.

  • Assess validity of data collected and differentiate between instrumentation faults and real vibration data. Correct assessment is critical to safety and plant operations.

  • Convert complex analysis results into SIMPLE layman's text and describe to customers, the problem noticed, risk involved and direct / indirect consequences.

  • Conduct "high-risk" over speed trip testing of steam turbines. Ensures adherence to procedure and certifies the test results.

  • Providing technical support during equipment overhauling viz. Turbines, Pumps, Blowers, and Compressors. 

  • Critical checks and Hold point verification.

  • Supporting external inspections for Mechanical seals, Motor overhauls, repair jobs of rotating equipment

  • Providing support for turnaround jobs follow up, scope preparation, job execution.


System maintenance and tools calibration and testing



  • Ensure that all tools and instruments used for collecting data are maintained, calibrated, and tested in time. This is critical to ensure validity of data collected.

  • Maintain calibration reports and generate monthly report on tools calibration status.

  • Manage service contracts with tools/instrument manufacturers, third party vendors.

  • System administration for condition monitoring software AMSsuite, System1, MTC and ADRE. Includes maintenance of licenses, software versions/upgrades, managing service contracts with software suppliers, user administration and troubleshooting.

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency.

  • Implement all relevant policies, processes, procedures, and instructions of Project Engineering Section so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.


Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment 



  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across Instrument and Electrical Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.


Reporting



  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.


Qatarization



  • Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.

5. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

Required (Qualification1 / Discipline): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred (Qualification1 / Discipline): Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.



Required (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): 3-5 years of experience in the O&G Industry.

Preferred (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): Similar experience in Petrochemicals Industry.



Equipment Reliability Group Technician Level 

Rotating Equipment Technician II:  Required experience of 3 years in the company as Rotating Equipment Technician and aligned to the Progression Plan requirements.

Senior Rotating Equipment Technician: Required experience of 6 years in the company as Rotating Equipment Technician and aligned to the Progression Plan requirements.



Note

Technician Support – Equipment Reliability Group Technician Progression Plan reflects the additional requirements of experience in details. The progression from Rotating Equipment Technician I to Rotating Equipment Technician has similar education criteria and requires additional experience.



Other Job Specific Requirements and/or Vocational Accreditations



  • In-depth understanding of inspection tools calibration, inspection reports generation, inspection scheduling & management

  • Hands-on experience in vibration monitoring and analysis, oil analysis, over speed trip testing.




Languages

Required (Language / Level4): English - proficient.

Preferred (Language / Level4): Arabic - working knowledge
