You will be working as Sales Manager - Drives, Motors & PLC, will be part of Motion Business Area for Service division based in Doha, Qatar. In this role you will be responsible to abide with ABB Safety and Integrity Guidelines with zero tolerance, ensure full cooperation and alignment with Motion LBM (Local Business Manager) and Service Sales Manager to have common direction in the marketplace, act as one team and to serve the customers the way they need to be served, coordinate with the different division stakeholders regionally and globally to ensure the best support to the market, proper market sizing and channels-to-market definition in Qatar for all products divisions of Motion.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyzing the market and defining appropriate sales forecast and plans, evaluating, and sharing with all stakeholders' market developments, customer feedback and competitor analysis, defining, planning and ensuring implementation of product marketing strategies in assigned area to meet business objectives and in line with global divisions strategy.
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders to driving sales for respective products and fit for the purpose offerings, creating, planning, and ensuring implementation of the local go-to–market product marketing strategy including definition and communication of product value propositions and product positioning in accordance with the global product marketing strategy.
  • Ensuring appropriate product knowledge (technical and commercial) for relevant portfolio offering, driving sales and technical support to our target customers (EU's, EPC's, OEM's, PB's, SI's and Distributors), building and maintaining strong support and relationships with new and existing customers and consultants ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction
  • Understanding customer needs in the market by regularly visiting customers, creating demand through technical promotion, providing solutions and value-based selling approach, implementing pricing strategies which should be segment and application specific, supporting market intelligence activities to uniquely position ABB to gain additional market share.
  • Preparing annual sales growth plans in line with divisions mandate as well as the LSU strategy, implementing business-driven actions in accordance, support developing and maintaining solid and healthy sales pipeline with high information quality and balanced nature to deliver committed plans across key focus segments and through all possible channels with balanced G2M approach.
  • Driving cross-divisional collaboration in a healthy and structured way to support packaging business, winning strategy formulation and pricing excellence, intense and proactive planning, mapping and strategizing.
  • Strong ability to sell value and competitive solutions and evaluating of the market climate, by segment, and targeting attractive segments, applications, and competitors' vulnerabilities in full alignment with account managers and segment leaders.
  • Identifying 'Must-win' opportunities and soliciting the necessary support for same, utilizing fully the sales and division tools to support our sales plans, account plans and segment strategies and tracking and developing opportunities, providing monthly sales forecasts and specific reports on sales development to the Motion Business Manager and the division stakeholders.
  • Continuously assessing market trends, customers, competitors, industries, applications, and country analyses for identifying and realizing opportunities with existing and potential new customers within defined target segments, giving feed back to the division, head of sales, account managers and segment leaders as appropriate on market trends, product needs, competitive landscape, market-pricing expectations, and conditions to win
  • Ensuring effective marketing communications, in particular ABB's value proposition, driving and ensuring knowledge sharing and cross-border collaboration

Your background

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in sales and marketing
  • Background in Qatar market and industry applications / trends is preferred.
  • Knowledge & hands on experience on CRM tools like salesforce
  • Effective communication internally within the organization & externally with customers.
  • Results-oriented and creative. Strategic and customer centric.
  • Ownership & Time management. Computer skills in Microsoft office (mainly Word, excel & power point).
  • Teamwork and collaboration spirit with ability to transfer know-how and develop technical capabilities.
  • Manage work pressure and business stress to remain productive and efficient to deliver targets set while keeping a healthy work-life balance.
  • Structured and Process-oriented (sales processes, tools, dashboard…). Sales experience with proven track record in exceeding sales targets in competitive markets
  • Fluency in English language is mandatory.
