Secondary Science Teacher

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher to join our team from August 2026.

The Role

As a Secondary Science Teacher at Newton, you will deliver high-quality teaching in line with the British National Curriculum, inspiring students through literature, language, and critical thinking, while supporting their academic progress and personal development within a supportive and collaborative school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver engaging and well-planned Science lessons in line with the British National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE/IGCSE experience desirable).


2. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high standards of learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.


3. Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.


4. Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and external examinations.


5. Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental development, and whole-school initiatives.


6. Support students’ personal, social, and emotional development through effective pastoral care.


7. Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student achievement.

Requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related subject.


2. A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, BEd, QTS, or an equivalent qualification.


3. A minimum of two years’ full-time teaching experience within a British curriculum school.


4. Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science (GCSE/IGCSE experience preferred).


5. Fluent English speaker with strong subject knowledge, classroom management, and communication skills.


6. A student-centred and inclusive approach to teaching and learning.


7. Ability to adapt confidently to a multicultural and dynamic school environment.
