Job Description - Senior Manager HR Business Partner - Qatar NationalBank

Essential Duties &Responsibilities:


A. Shareholder&Financial:

  • AssistVP HR Business Partners in the implementation of HR strategies forattracting developing motivating and retaining deserving employeesas set by the GM Group HumanCapital.

  • Establishing andachieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for performancemonitoring for the HR Business Partner unit and monitor theirachievements on periodicbasis.

  • Ensure quality HRservices to the internal customers in most cost effectivemanner.

B. Customer (Internal &External):

  • Assistin defining the goals of each division & departments withinand identify the optimum resources required to achieve them. Alsoprovide appropriate advice in such areas of employment counselingcompensation & benefits talent management training andorganization development.

  • Work closely with assigned Divisions and the Departments withinincreasingly in a consultancy role assisting both managers andemployees to understand and implement HR initiatives policies andprocedures in the interest of the GroupQNB

  • Build and maintainstrong and effective relationship with all other related units toachieve the Departments goals/objectives.

  • Ensure thatassistance is given to the heads and officers in resolvinggrievance or complex personnelproblems.

  • Recommendtransfers and promotions in order to best utilize abilities ofstaff.

  • Manage providingassistance in the development of communication to local customersand facilitate training of line managers and employees on newprograms systems and processes asrequired.

  • Ensure necessaryassistance is given to the Manpower Planning unit in developingappropriate HR planning strategies which consider immediate andlongterm staff requirements in terms of staffing numberlevel.

  • Ensure thatemployees are coached on performance management system andprocess.

  • Ensure that properadvice is provided to heads and employees on entitled compensationand benefits salary packages and relevant marketinformation.

  • Assist Head ofHR Business Partners in leading the implementation of globalregional and local HR Programs including the annual / midyearperformance reviews the annual salary reviews the incentive plandistribution and payment the employee opinion surveysetc.

  • Coordinate with legalconsultants on labor law relatedmatters.

  • Supervise theprocess of identifying and reporting significant potential problemsthat may jeopardize the achievement of company goals and those thatare not being addressed adequately at the line managementlevel.

  • Manage providingassistance to Compensation &Benefits unit in conductingcompetitive market research to establish pay practices and paybands that help to recruit and retain superiorstaff.

  • Ensure thatassistance is provided in deployment of Group level TalentManagement and Succession Planning process by playing a role ofactive facilitator.

  • Ensurethat advice and information are provided on handling employee orcompany initiatedterminations.

  • Ensure thatexit interviews are conducted and attrition trends are analysed tofeed the information back in HRstrategy.

  • Strive to retainTalent in the assigned Division and act as a first point of contactfor employee questions andgrievances.

  • Review andmonitor monthly headcount / variance as applicable within theDivision

  • Undertake adhocduties and projects asrequired.

C. Learning &Knowledge:

  • Possessan indepth understanding of local employment legislation compliancerequirements and changes impacting theworkforce.

  • Possess extensive knowledge of HR practices principles applicationsmethods and laws.

  • Identifyareas for professional development of self and all direct reportsand act to enhance professional development of self andothers.

  • Activelyparticipate in meetings which aim to assess performance and serveas means to resolve grievances or conflicts within theteam.

Education/ExperienceRequirements:

  • Universitygraduate with a degree specializing in BusinessHumanResources

  • Minimum of 8years experience in human resources preferably with a local/ Gulfbank entailing responsibilities in HR BusinessPartners

  • CIPD certificatewould be advantageous

RequiredSpecial Skills:

  • Strong oraland written communication skills in English andArabic.

  • Excellentinterpersonal and coachingskills.

  • Ability to identifyand recommend appropriate course ofaction.

  • Ability to makedecisions and follow through withinitiatives.

  • Planningorganizing ability.

  • Abilityto motivate and work with teams from diverse culturalbackgrounds.

Operating Environment/Location:

  • The referencedposition will be based in Qatar and will involve liaison with otherdivisions.

  • Will entailperiodic visits to local and overseas branches and subsidiaries asand whenapplicable.
