Job Overview:

Perform conceptual FEED Studies anddetailed analyses and design as per design basis projectspecifications design codes and standards. Apply knowledge andskills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations andanalyses including design reports and procedures. Manage own timeto meet agreed deadlines and budgets and develop plans forshortterm work activities in own area. Clearly communicate andexplain complex issues and work to establishunderstanding.

KeyTasks and Responsibilities:

• Be fully familiar with theproject scope of work specifications schedule and allinterdiscipline requirements; including identifying concerns asearly as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to addressthe issues
• Identify changes to scope andpromptly raise change notifications including providing anynecessary supporting documentation and estimates. Provide similarsupport for Variation Orders
• Interface withall disciplines to develop clash free designs
• Interface with other departments to obtaininput for Discipline designs and drawings
• Maintain close coordination with otherengineering disciplines Planning Fabrication Marine and ProjectManagement Team as required
• Documentsubstantive communications (communications that result insignificant decisions or assignment of actions) and forward copiesto Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager
• Assist in preparation of estimates for bidproposals including technical query reviews execution statementsand manhour estimates
• Raise technical queriesto obtain missing information clarify work scope and to maintainpreferred McDermott procedures specifications standards practicesand operational requirements
• PrepareDiscipline engineering design basis philosophies and technicalspecifications as required
• Participate infinalizing deliverables lists and deliverables ensuring compliancewith specifications and functional integrity
• Attend project review meetings vendor meetingsengineering meetings and offshore site surveys as required
• Provide technical direction and review ofDesigners producing products related to Mechanical Engineering
• Prepare and review design reports andprocedures
• Assist in providing necessarydesign inputs to other disciplines to enable them in proceedingwith their deliverables
• Assist procurementpersonnel in procuring Discipline equipment materials and services;ensuring that work produced complies with Customer objectives andprocedures. Procurement assistance includes preparing and reviewingrequisitions evaluating technical quotations and preparing queriescompiling bid tabulations and recommendations preparing purchaserequisitions and coordinating with Procurement to expedite vendordocuments as directed by Discipline Lead Engineer
• Assist in updating weight report based onreceipt of vendor information
• Checkengineering performed by others within Discipline
• Review vendor and subcontractor submittalschecking for compliance with project specifications and providingcomments as necessary
• Perform designverification through singlediscipline check / interdiscipline check(IDC)
• Provide technical support to allfabrication queries including identifying defect / rectificationrequirements
• Keep the Lead Engineer apprisedof all activities and concerns technical budgetary and manpowerrelated
• Assist in providing inputs for actualplanning and forecasting progress reports including associatedproductivity
• Check final subcontractor andvendor data manuals to ensure that all requested data has beenreceived and approved
• Participate in internalCustomer and third party technical audits on engineeringdeliverables and vendor documents
• Assist LeadEngineer with responses to Customer and other agencies (such ascertifying authorities auditors third parties etc.) on their reviewand approval
• Capture lessons learned and enterinto MDRs Lessons Learned system
• CaptureKnowledge Objects and enter into MDRs K.now system
• Act as a resource for colleagues with lessexperience
• Guide less experienced engineers onMDR and Discipline procedures standards worksheets designcalculations software requisitions technical bid evaluationstechnical queries etc
• Be aware of costsrelated to own work and of the discipline
• Check / Prepare Mechanical equipment listspare parts list special tools list
• Check /Prepare detailed engineering documents / deliverables such as:
  • Mechanical Equipment Specifications anddatasheets
  • Mechanical handling philosophyreport and associated requisitioning for handling equipment
  • Lubrication schedule spare parts schedule
• Assist with equipmentinspection and testing
• Participate in FactoryAcceptance Testing of various items as assigned
• Assist in updating electrical load listP&lDs and equipment lists based on receipt of vendorinformation

EssentialQualifications and Education:

• Bachelor Degree inMechanical Engineering or in similar Engineering field (MasterDegree is Preferred)
• 6 yrs in oil and gas withmajor contractor or consultant predominantly performing detaildesign of offshore facilities
• PreferablyRegistered Professional Engineer or member of professionalengineering society

Preferred Qualificationsand Education:

• SeniorMechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer should meet the followingminimum criteria:
  • Offshore experience forcomplex Rotating Equipment Packages
  • Shouldhave FEED and EPCI experience in design of Compression ProcessPlatform and Living Quarter facilities
  • Shouldhave minimum 12 years of Oil and Gas experience
  • Should have extensive experience in Design ofGas Turbine Driven and/or Electrical Motor driven Compressionfacilities Fire Water Pump packages Emergency Diesel GeneratorPackages High Energy Pumps design Process and Utility equipmentdesign
  • Should have detailed knowledge of APIISO ASME etc international code and standards
  • Should have experience to execute Offshore EPCproject for reputed Companies such Total Shell BP QatarEnergy ADNOCetc
  • Should have experience in the preparation/ checking of the detailed engineering deliverables such as
    • Mechanical Equipment Specification
    • Mechanical Datasheets
    • Preparation of Material Requisition
    • Vendor Offer Evaluations and Preparation ofTechnical Bid Analysis
    • Preparation of PurchaseRequisition
    • Vendor document review andimplement the design requirements into package detailedengineering.
    • Review Vendor Package progress tomeet schedule and comply specification requirements.
    • Coordination with all relevantinterdisciplines vendor client to dispatch the package on time andwithin stipulated cost.
    • Participate in FactoryAcceptance Tests.
    • Active Support for ErectionPrecommissioning and Commissioning of these packages.
    • Support for Site Activities if required.
    • Noise Report and RAM report prepared byconsultants.
    • Lubrication schedule spare partsschedule etc.
