Usecomplicated shop mathematics to calculate irregular curves, angles,and pitch. Apply principles of radial-line development combinedwith parallel-line development to devise and calculate patterns.Manufacture items and systems with dovetailed seams, set-in-bottomseams, burred-bottom seams, or wire or lock seams. Set up, adjust,and operate powered and non-powered tools and forming equipment toform sheet metal into cylindrical, tapered, conical, and irregularshapes. Select, cut, bend, and install hardware on all types ofassemblies as determined by pattern, layout, and specification.Fabricate templates for sheet metal components. Assemble andfabricates components of stainless steel, black iron, galvanizediron, terne plate, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb material, andalloys and installs by use of bolts, screws, and lock-seams. Applyriveting, soldering, and spot-welding techniques for appearance,durability, and structural soundness. Work with a variety ofassembly joints, hems, and edges. Responsibilities MajorResponsibilities: • Shall develop patterns, cut, form,join, assemble, and install items and systems which have combinedstraight and curved edges or irregular curves, angles, and planesthroughout the installation. • Responsible for following acomprehensive safety program in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA andUnited States Air Force (USAF) requirements. • Responsiblefor maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable,professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in allworking facilities and areas. • Responsible for followinga comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented trainingprogram. • Responsible for proper utilization andsafeguarding of all government and contractor provided property(e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).• Responsible for precise execution of company timereporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.• Perform other duties as assigned in accordance withcontractual, functional, and mission requirements. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Education/ Certifications: • Highschool diploma or equivalent. • Journeyman card forrespective trade provided through a recognized apprentice programor State certification, and/or current or expired stateContractor’s license for the respective trade and/orevidence of passing the International Code Council (ICC) nationaljourneyman or master certification exam (i.e., electrician, HVACmechanic, plumber, etc.) and/or nationally recognized certificationprogram and/or documented military journeyman level or higherexperience in the respective trade, as identified on a DD214.• Must have a current, valid U. S. Passport andDriver’s License (able to drive manual transmission).• Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET SecurityClearance prior to deployment. • Must obtain an Air Forceflight line driver’s license upon deployment. •Must pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line accessbadge upon deployment. Other Requirements: • Must passemployment and deployment qualification requirements that includepsychological, medical, dental, drug testing and background checks.• Candidates must successfully complete hands-on CBRN(chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training.Training includes the successful fit testing of DOD providedprotective gear.
