3. JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

Lead and manage the effective planning and execution of the compony production plan while maintaining plant safety, reliability, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and product quality.

4.1 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategy and Performance Management 



  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Production Units short to mid-term strategic plan to ensure alignment with the Department’s strategic priorities, and the corporate goals.

  • Contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.

  • Monitor, control and report key performance indicators related to the Section in order to track performance and recommend corrective actions.

  • Participate in the development and review of and manage the implementation of company policies, systems, processes, and procedures in order to ensure operational excellence.


People Management 



  • Manage the activities of Production Unit employees to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient manner, in line with the annual business plans, policies and procedures.

  • Manage the performance management process by setting annual objectives, and developing staff through mentoring, coaching and constructive feedback. 

  • Identify employees’ training and developmental needs and in conjunction with Human Capital Department bridge the knowledge gaps to ensure continuous progression, and high-level of competence within the team.

  • Ensure that all of the team members are completing their compliance trainings and are up to date on their training certifications.

  • Implement developmental plans to assist qualified Qatari Nationals to occupy potential vacancies so as to adhere to stipulated Qatarization targets.

  • Ensure adequate manpower is allocated to ensure required task are safely completed. 

  • Monitor performance, coach, and mentor, and take disciplinary actions as required in order to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Use technical expertise and experience as required in order to provide instruction and guidance to personnel in order to resolve any issues.


Organization Structure



  • Contribute to defining an optimum structure for the Production unit, in order to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilisation of resources.


Budget Planning



  • Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of the Section’s budget, monitor financial performance during the year and identify areas of unsatisfactory performance (if any), and recommend mitigating actions. 

  • Monitor the Production Unit’s financial performance against the approved budget and identify and address any discrepancies.


4.2 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Superintendent Duties



  • Oversee the activities and work performed in the Production Unit. Ensure Production Unit employees comply with all company policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and Daily Operating Instructions and in alignment with the business plans.

  • Ensure safe and reliable unit operations, while achieving production targets within allocated operational budget.

  • Ensure the identification and coordination of operational challenges with Maintenance, Technical and Turnaround teams to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution to maintain ongoing plant reliability.

  • Supervise plant operational performance through daily and periodic reporting tools and dashboards to assess production, efficiency, and product quality levels. 

  • Devise and execute action plans to resolve and address any identified production deviations.

  • Develop plans to address product non-conformances or other product quality related concerns.

  • Work closely with TA team in major shutdowns and turnarounds to ensure minimal plant downtime and effective maintenance.

  • Identify and manage the implementation of improvements of systems, processes, and practices in order to increase safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure timely completion of MICE PM’s and MICE corrective repairs.

  • Support internal and external audits. 

  • Verify and approve SAP invoices.

Reporting



  • Ensure key Production Unit metrics are monitored and reviewed with necessary actions taken to ensure Production Unit and company goals are achieved.

  • Report to the Production Manager / Deputy Plant Manager on the progress of activities against the annual business plans, opportunities, challenges, and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc. 

  • Ensure that all reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet the Department and Company business requirements.


Qatarization



  • Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.

5. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE











Education

Required (Qualification1 / Discipline): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain applicable for Logistics.

Preferred (Qualification1 / Discipline): Master’s degree in Engineering/ Master’s degree in Supply Chain applicable for Logistics.



Experience

Required (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): 7-10 years of experience in O&G Industry, out of which 4 years at Supervisor / Mid-Management level.

Preferred (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): Experience in Petrochemical Production Facility.



Other Job Specific Requirements and/or Vocational Accreditations



  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to coach and mentor personnel.

  • Advanced knowledge of plant operations 

  • Advanced proficiency in communication skills




Languages

Required (Language / Level4): English – proficient.

Preferred (Language / Level4): Arabic - working knowledge
