In this role, you will be working in our Operations Department (Planning & Stevedoring Services Section), supporting Al‑Awalia’s operations by ensuring accurate recording, verification, and reconciliation of goods, transactions, and documentation.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Adherence to quality, health & safety, information security, and business continuity policies.
- Check, verify, and tally goods against invoices and supporting documents to ensure accuracy.
- Record quantities and weights of materials received, shipped, or processed.
- Verify and reconcile customer payments with invoices and financial records.
- Assist in reconciling bank deposits and transactions with internal records.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation related to tallying activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and accurate reporting.
- Identify discrepancies and report them promptly to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures and company policies.
- Support efficient handling of documentation and record-keeping processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure operational accuracy and productivity.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the line manager.
About you
For you to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:
- High school certificate or diploma in a relevant field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience, preferably in port operations or logistics.
- Basic command of the English language; Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu is an advantage.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Good understanding of tallying practices, documentation, and reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with port operations and cargo handling is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling records and data.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional attitude with integrity and commitment to ethical standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
