In this rewarding role, you will be working in our Maintenance & Logistics (Workshop) Department, supporting Al‑Awalia’s operations by performing welding, fabrication, and repair activities to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Adherence to quality, health & safety, information security, and business continuity policies.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and repair work as directed by supervisors.
- Carry out welding repairs to a high standard, ensuring durability and safety of equipment.
- Support maintenance and repair activities across the sand plant and related operational areas.
- Maintain welding machines, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and best practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Inspect work areas and report faults, defects, or observations to the supervisor.
- Work closely with plant operators and maintenance teams to ensure equipment remains operational.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping of tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the line manager.
About you
For you to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:
- Relevant vocational or technical qualification in welding or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on welding experience.
- Basic communication skills in English.
- Fundamental knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Experience in welding, bracing, and hard-facing applications.
- Familiarity with maintenance and repair work in industrial or plant environments is an advantage.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices in welding operations.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Professional attitude with integrity and respect for diverse work environments.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
