Job Description - Welding Inspector

Job Title: Welding Inspector

Location: Qatar

Experience: Minimum 2+ Years

Job Summary:

A skilled and detail -oriented Welding Inspector is required to ensure that all welding activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and safety regulations. The role involves inspection, testing, and quality control of welding processes and materials in industrial or construction environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect welding activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and standards

Review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)

Conduct visual inspections and ensure weld quality meets required standards

Coordinate and monitor Non -Destructive Testing (NDT) activities

Identify welding defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Maintain inspection reports, records, and documentation accurately

Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality assurance procedures

Monitor welder qualifications and certification validity

Conduct pre -weld, in -process, and post -weld inspections

Liaise with QA/QC engineers, project teams, and clients for inspection approvals

Qualification & Experience:

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Welding Inspector (Oil & Gas / Construction preferred)

Certification such as CSWIP 3.1 / AWS -CWI (preferred)

Knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API)

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of welding techniques and inspection methods

Familiarity with NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT)

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols

Good understanding of quality control and assurance processes

Attention to detail and strong problem -solving skills

Effective communication and reporting skills

Ability to work in a fast -paced site environment
