Quantity surveyors manage the costs on a construction project. They help to ensure that the construction project is completed within its projected budget. They are responsible for the cost of any building project - from initial estimates, right through to the final acquisition of materials.
Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):
· Act as a senior member for the Quantity Surveying Section in the Design center.
· Support the tendering process, by taking the responsibility to attend the tender queries related to bills of quantities and evaluation of tenderers for the preparation of tender analysis report within the stipulated time.
· Ensure client satisfaction with quantity surveying deliverables in high quality standards and in a timely manner.
· Be responsible for the preparation of BOQ (along with QS team) for quantity take-off and to ensure all key elements from relevant design departments (including Electrical, Mechanical, Landscape & Irrigation) are incorporated.
· Be responsible to create a ‘Rate Build up’ Database by periodically contacting/researching suppliers to obtain unit rates used for construction cost estimates along with latest construction methodologies.
· Closely work with design teams for the preparation of cost estimates at various design stages (e.g. concept design, schematic design, draft final design, tender documents), as needed.
· Conduct value engineering exercises for various design options presented by design teams, as needed and advise the team accordingly.
· Support in tendering process, by responding to tender clarifications, evaluation of contractor’s submission and the preparation of the Tender Analysis Reports.
· Support the calculation of upfront, high-level project cost estimates to Design Sectors and Geographies during the project sales process, as required.
· Ensure Client satisfaction with quantity surveying deliverables. Implement company policies and procedures.
· Provide the support and cooperation with the quality department requirements and audits.
· Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the business development & tenders management activities when requested.
