The Planning Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient execution of projects to meet client requirements and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

2. Resource Management:

- Identify project resource requirements, including manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, and collaborate with procurement and HR departments to ensure timely availability and allocation of resources.

- Optimize resource utilization and allocation to maximize efficiency, minimize project duration, and reduce costs while maintaining quality and safety standards.

3. Schedule Monitoring and Control:

- Identify and assess project risks, constraints, and uncertainties that may impact project schedules or objectives, and develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential threats.

- Proactively communicate project risks, issues, and mitigation measures to project stakeholders and management, and escalate critical issues or deviations from the plan as necessary for resolution.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, schedules, progress reports, change orders, and other relevant records, in compliance with company policies and project requirements.

- Prepare regular project status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide visibility into project progress, milestones achieved, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review and decision-making.

6. Continuous Improvement:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and best practices in project planning, scheduling, and execution, and recommend initiatives to enhance project management capabilities and performance.

- Participate in lessons learned sessions, post-project reviews, and knowledge sharing activities to capture insights, identify areas for improvement, and disseminate best practices across the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; additional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is advantageous.

- Proven experience as a planning engineer, project scheduler, or similar role in the construction, fitout, or joinery/carpentry industry, with a track record of successful project delivery.

- Proficiency in project management software tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar applications, for developing project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex project data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize project performance.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate project plans and status updates, and build rapport with stakeholders.
