Senior Manager, Power BI/ Workflow Automation

SUMMARY

Power BI is a powerful tool for visualizing and analysing data, but manual data handling processes can be time-consuming and error prone. Automation of workflows within Power BI can help organizations leverage their data more effectively and efficiently .

The purpose of the role is to streamline and automate data workflows within Power BI to improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed of reporting and analytics. By automating processes, the organization can save time, reduce errors, and empower users to make data-driven decisions faster.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Power BI Responsibilities

• Recognize business requirements in the context of BI and create data models to transform raw data into relevant insights.
• Using Power BI, create dashboards and interactive visual reports.
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and track them regularly.
• Analyze data and display it in reports to aid decision-making.
• Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job completion.
• Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, as well as execute efficient deep analysis.
• Use Power BI to run DAX queries and functions.
• Create charts and data documentation with explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships.
• Use SQL queries to get the best results.
• Make technological adjustments to current BI systems to improve their performance.
• For a better understanding of the data, use filters and visualizations.
• Analyze current ETL procedures to define and create new systems.
• Able to perform UAT and work with business.
• Will liaise with Security team to ensure all practices are following Ooredoo security governance.
• Will act as a technical trouble shooter liaising with relevant entities to resolve issues.
• Will ensure handover of PBI platform from vendor to internal resources, is fulfilled properly to secure business continuity: model, architecture, database, documents and guidelines, accesses, ….
• Will ensure proper training is handled by the vendor.
• Will document processes related to PBI for knowledge management.
• Improve current practices.
• Will align with rest of Performance Management team on KPIs definitions.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10-years’ experience with Power Platform development
• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or information systems technology
• Experience in data preparation and data warehousing projects.
• Experience in Microsoft BI stack with Power BI
• Experience in working with Power BI
• Familiarity with scripting and programming
• Knowledge of SQL server
• Mandatory previous experience in telco to understand business KPIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Knowledge of relevant software skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Wave).
