Job Description - Sr. Construction Supervisor
Qualification
x Degree (or) Diploma in mechanical Engineering Discipline with extensive construction
related experience.
Experience
x A minimum of (12) years’ experience in relevant offshore construction and installation
activities in projects of oil & gas industry.
x Experience in and steel structure installation and commissioning of Offshore Projects.
x Good knowledge in piping and mechanical installation and commissioning.
x Good knowledge of lifting activities to assess the lifting plan and lifting operation.
x Experienced in the implementation of construction industry best practices, systems,
processes and standards.
x Understanding of construction techniques for various types of work especially the
construction and commissioning activities in Green, brown fields and Well Head Jackets.
x Good skills in construction management, effective communication, conflict resolution.
x Exposure to works by associated disciplines
x Computer literate. Good communication and writing skills.
x Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and
environmental awareness.
x Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, lifting plan, inspection and test
plans, construction schedules and drawings.
x Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems and ability to suggest solutions.
x Ability to supervise, cooperate and coordinate with multi-national and multi-cultural
contractor workforce.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
x Monitor, control and report Contractor’s performance, man-power deployment, plant and
equipment’s movements, construction slippages etc.
x Conduct daily and weekly meeting with Contractors involving all discipline supervisors,
QA/QC Inspectors and HSE advisors and address/resolve issues hindering progress.
x Act as the construction Risk Management representative to identify Construction Risk
events, the effects & consequences, propose mitigation measures and take ownership to
ensure mitigation measures have been implemented at site.

x Review and forward to management daily and weekly construction progress reports for
assigned projects and verify contractor's progress statements for accuracy.
x Liaise with senior discipline engineers throughout all phases of the project for all
construction related matters including inputs during the detailed engineering and
procurement stages.
x Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements, material
requisitions, material receipt inspection etc.
x Review contractors’ construction plans, schedules, method statements, procedures
including offshore logistics.
x Supervise and approve construction activities and co-ordinate various aspects of project
construction including material, work and testing inspections in fabrication yard, material
submissions and working drawings from contractor and processing documentation as
required.
x Check and ensure that all construction works are completed in accordance with approved
standards and consistent with contract specifications.
x Coordinate the MCC walk through, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with
contractor, vendors and end users.
x Maintain a daily record of progress noting special comments. Reports to supervisor work
anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend
corrective actions.
x Monitor and control of Client work permits to ensure that contractor compliance
with conditions fixed on consolidated work permits.
x Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
to offshore sites following the contract award.
x Interact and interface with other contractors, projects, departments regularly to identify
and resolve all construction related matters especially liaison with Production and
Maintenance departments.
x Under the general supervision of Head, Construction; initiate decisions on the project
issues within the framework of respective contract documents, client
Procedures/guidelines, in close coordinate and concurrence with the project team.
x Takes responsibility for all matters outside of normal client working hours during
construction phases of the project.
x Accountable for efficiently managing site construction activities leading to construction,
pre-commissioning in accordance with client’s policies and procedures.
x Alert PMT of anticipated construction slippage and provide inputs for corrective actions
and implement as required
