The company's equipment has been used in broadcasts of such events as the Academy Awards and the Olympic Games. The EVS Group's roots are in sports television, which remains its core business. The company has ventured into digital movie distribution and theater exhibition through its XDC affiliate. EVS acquired France-based OpenCube in 2010 in order to expand its technology portfolio.
