Job Description - Back Office specialist

A Cyprus-based investment company that specializes in Asset Management, Custody and Clearing, and Brokerage of securities globally is looking for a Back Office Specialist!

The company’s focus is primarily on fixed income investments, particularly in emerging market Eurobonds. With an extensive network of counterparties in both emerging market jurisdictions and western capital markets, the company provides tailored financial solutions across all aspects of investment services.

Your tasks on the position

  • Ensure timely and accurate trade settlements via specialized systems
  • Utilize the SWIFT international messaging system for processing and confirming financial transactions
  • Check and process transfers. Identify and mitigate risks associated with the settlement process
  • Daily reconciliation between the company’s internal records and custodians
  • Communicate with counterparties regarding settlement processes
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to client queries, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
  • Ensure proper and accurate booking in internal systems
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards including reporting to relevant authorities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience
  • University degree in finance or a related field
  • Strong quantitative academic background
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in settlement systems and software (e.g., Euroclear, SWIFT)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeRelevant certification such us CySEC and CFA will be an advantage
  • Fluent in English

Will be an advantage

  • Relevant industry experience
  • Experience in fixed income, equities, and derivatives settlement
  • Clearing experience with Euroclear/Clearstream and domestic markets
  • Knowledge of fixed income pricing, trading, and dealing
  • Understanding of accounting, record-keeping, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with cash transfers
  • Experience with various platforms (SWIFT, booking systems, etc.)
