Country Controller - Bucharest office

• Own and coordinate US GAAP financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial statements


• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including full ownership of Balance Sheet, P&L, and reporting packages


• Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, identify complex accounting issues, and escalate where needed


• Oversee mark-to-market (MTM) processes, including pricing, calculations, and postings


• Monitor and improve accounting and reporting KPIs, driving performance and process efficiency


• Drive end-to-end financial process improvement, working closely with BBS and other teams to enhance alignment, automation, and simplification


• Ensure strong SOX and internal control compliance, including execution of controls, audit coordination, and remediation of identified issues


• Oversee industrial controlling activities, including inventory management, valuation, fixed assets, and compliance with accounting policies


• Manage statutory (local GAAP) reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions and handling local adjustments


• Act as a key point of contact for auditors, authorities, and external stakeholders


• Partner with business and cross-functional teams to analyze performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support decision-making


• Lead and develop the team, supporting talent development and succession planning

What you can bring to the role: 

• Min 5-7 years in progressive leadership roles across Controlling / Finance;  agricultural commodity experience - preferred


• Degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics. Qualified accountant or equivalent (ACCA, CPA, etc.) is a plus


• Good knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, SEC requirements; US GAAP and SEC financial reporting roles; U.S. multinational experience desired.


• Good command of English language


• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in a multi-country environment


• Strong leadership skills and collaborative mindset
