Development is the largest discipline at Endava. Our developers design, build, and release software products in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and libraries. Always collaborating with cross-functional project teams, our developers are adaptable problem-solvers with a client-oriented mindset.  

A Development Consultant understands the technical landscape of IT projects, comprehends the business context and goals, and uses their experience to develop optimal solutions, including technology and design choices. They support the project manager in planning software delivery, articulate the vision to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and work directly with customers to define solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based microservices that power TV streaming platforms.
• Optimize backend performance for low-latency content delivery and seamless user experiences.
• Work with event-driven architectures to support high-throughput data processing.
• Ensure API performance, security, and reliability, integrating RESTful and GraphQL services.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to develop efficient backend-for-frontend (BFF) solutions.
• Write clean, reusable, and testable code, following best practices in Python development.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and establish engineering standards.
• Work with cloud infrastructure to deploy and manage scalable backend services.
• Monitor system health, performance, and security, making proactive optimizations.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to ensure smooth operation in production environments.

• 5+ years of experience in Python backend development.
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture and API design.
• Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proficiency in event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Deep understanding of scalable and distributed systems.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile development environment.

Nice to have: 

• Experience with video streaming technologies (HLS, DASH, DRM).
• Knowledge of GraphQL and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns.
• Exposure to machine learning models for video recommendations.
• Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Background in serverless computing and event-driven cloud architectures.
