JOB OVERVIEW
CNPSA is seeking a results-driven professional to join the on-site team in the role of Director Construction to lead local and international team members as part of the Project Management Organization. Reporting to the Project Director, this role will be a representative of CNPSA supporting SNN in the refurbishment of the Cernavoda Unit 1.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Acts as the interface between Project, QA and Construction
- Ensures Radiation Protection is such that all reasonably achievable means of dose reduction are implemented
- Approves all construction work packages
- Performs functional responsibilities as the supervisor for Radiation Protection, Construction, Civil Works, and assigned PMs
- Accountable for the on-time delivery of site infrastructure required to support the refurbishment activities
- Provides timely inputs to the reporting of construction schedule, budget, dose and manpower requirements
- Provides oversight for safety programs of vendors
- Review and approve safety incident investigations as part of Corrective Action Program
- Approves the safety program for the refurbishment
EDUCATION
- Post-Secondary/University Degree in Engineering, Business Administration in Finances, PMP Certificate or equivalent based on previous experience
- Previous experience in the refurbishment, maintenance and/or operation of a CANDU Station is considered a must
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a results-driven professional who has the following:
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Construction Leadership roles
- Extensive knowledge of Engineering /Project Management and Cost Control principles, codes and standards
- A proven track record in previous large Projects in the Nuclear field; preferably proven experience with investment projects worth at least 100 million, EUR
- Demonstrated experience in CANDU Refurbishments
- Ability to communicate effectively, possess excellent oral and writing skills, and strong facilitation, negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills. Ability to present information clearly and effectively
- Ability to adequately disposition comments for other technical staff
- Sound judgment and a keen sense of responsibility
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet objectives and targets
- Ability to make decisions based on established requirements, procedures and practices.
