Role

Octus is seeking for ESG Analysts at various levels of experience to join our team in Bucharest. This is a great opportunity to work on industry-leading ESG solutions supporting the world’s top investment managers.

You’ll contribute to our standardised ESG data and reporting platform, supporting data collection, ESG analysis, and product development. Depending on your level of experience, you may also help shape internal processes, mentor junior analysts, and liaise with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Depending on experience, responsibilities may include: 

• Data Collection & Research: Collect and validate ESG and financial data from company reports, databases, and other sources.


• ESG Analysis: Prepare ESG write-ups highlighting material topics and performance indicators across Environmental, Social, and Governance pillars.


• Quality Assurance: Conduct or support quality checks on collected data and analysis, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal standards.


• Process Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of workflows, tools, and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and data integrity.


• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product, operations, and client-facing teams to ensure ESG data supports business goals.


• Reporting & Communication: Summarize findings and contribute to internal and client-facing ESG reports and dashboards.


• Mentorship (for experienced candidates): Support onboarding and development of junior analysts by sharing expertise and best practices.


• Excel & Tools: Use Excel to manage and analyze datasets. Experience with advanced functions, macros, or automation is a plus.

Requirements:
Required for all candidates:

• Interest in ESG, sustainable finance, and leveraged finance (LevFin)


• Strong research, analytical thinking, and attention to detail


• Effective communication and collaboration skills


• Proactive mindset with ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities


• Familiarity with Excel and comfort working with large datasets

Additional qualifications for experienced candidates:

• 2+ years of experience in ESG analysis, data collection, or financial research


• Familiarity with ESG frameworks and regulations (e.g., SFDR, TCFD)


• Experience writing ESG analysis or reviewing peers’ outputs


• Strong quality control capabilities


• Ability to mentor or train others
