Job Description - IT Support and Monitoring Engineer

Miele Tehnica is a subsidiary of Miele & Cie. KG, Germany. We produce electronic components for a wide range of Miele appliances, such as washing machines, tumble dryers, vacuum cleaners, ovens and others. The products Miele offers to its customers set the standards for durability, performance, ease of use, energy efficiency, design and service products.

 

We are looking for an IT Support & Monitoring Engineer to ensure the stability and efficiency of our IT systems while providing high-quality support to internal users. This position combines responsibilities for IT Service Desk operations and IT system monitoring, requiring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication in German (C1) and English (B2+).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level support for hardware, software, and applications via phone, ticketing system, and remote tools.
  • Analyze, prioritize, and resolve incidents and requests; escalate to higher levels when necessary.
  • Participate in on-call duty for critical alerts and troubleshooting outside normal hours.
  • Document cases accurately and maintain clear communication with users.
  • Operate and monitor IT systems and applications using centralized tools.
  • Respond to alerts, investigate root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Manage and coordinate major incidents as Major Incident Manager, including stakeholder communication.
  • Support ITSM processes (incident, change, problem, and asset management).
  • Perform system restarts and maintenance tasks as per documentation.

 

Must have:

  • 3+ years of IT experience including IT Service Desk experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, MS Office.
  • Fair understanding of SAP, networks, and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Excellent communication, service-oriented mindset, and ability to work in shifts/on-call.
  • Languages: German (C1) and English (B2+) required.

 

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of data center operations and IT system architecture.
  • Experience in monitoring or operating IT systems in a control center environment.
  • ITIL certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong willingness to learn and engage in continuous professional development.
  • Independent, solution-oriented, and proactive work style.

 

Education:

  • Several years of professional experience in an IT environment.
