Junior Cloud Engineer

The opportunity

Junior Cloud Engineer - to join the EY Romania team and perform real-time management of complex cybersecurity platforms and cloud infrastructures.

Your key responsibilities

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure across environments (compute, networking, storage) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform;


• Support the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to enable automated build, test, and deployment workflows;


• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using observability tools; proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues;


• Contribute to automation efforts for provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual work;


• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of applications into cloud environments following DevOps best practices;


• Participate in troubleshooting incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventive improvements;


• Help enforce best practices for scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and cost optimization in cloud environments;


• Maintain documentation related to infrastructure setup, deployment processes, and operational procedures.

Skills and attributes for success

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field;


• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) and core infrastructure concepts (compute, networking, storage);


• Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools (CI/CD pipelines, version control systems like Git, Infrastructure as Code concepts such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation);


• Exposure to scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python or Bash) is a plus;


• Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing);


• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, especially for technical topics;


• Have any cloud related certifications (AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, Terraform, etc.);


• Have previous experience working with DevOps technologies and/or Cloud Platforms.

Ideally you`ll also

• Demonstrates reliability, ownership, and a proactive attitude in a team environment.


• Have strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new technologies quickly;
