Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a Legal Engineer who provides legal operations support to the Legal Operations Director and the Legal, Compliance, and Privacy (LCP) team of the Arcadis Group. You will play a key role in building a best-in-class function in terms of efficiency, standardization, automation, and technology-enabled global collaboration. You will be focused on designing and implementing processes, tools, and technologies to optimize the delivery of LCP activities globally, while ensuring alignment with Arcadis’ business goals and core values. 

Reports to Legal Operations Director 

Role accountabilities:

Legal engineer for operational excellence

• The main responsibilities of this role include designing and implementing legal technology and data solutions


• Work closely with the LCP team and IT to ensure seamless integration of legal tools with Arcadis’ broader technology ecosystem


• Collect and analyse data to support strategic decision-making by the Legal Operations Director and senior leadership


• Partner with the LCP team of Arcadis to identify and address key operational challenges, ensuring continuous improvement and scalability of processes, cost efficiency, and excellence in global collaboration 


• Monitor legal tech trends and innovations, recommending tools that align with Arcadis’ needs

Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Procurement, and Growth, to ensure alignment and integration of legal operations with business-wide initiatives


• Train and support LCP  team members and other stakeholders to maximize the adoption and effective use of legal tools and systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

The candidate should have an advanced degree in Law (or legal studies), Computer Science, or a related field, 4+ years of relevant experience in legal technology, legal operations, or solutions within a corporate legal department, law fir,m or technology provider and hands-on experience implementing and managing legal technology solutions.  

Further, the candidate should have: 

• Strong understanding of, and proficiency with, legal technology solutions, for example contract lifecycle management and matter management systems underpinned by artificial intelligence, and be up to date on the latest product offerings in the market. 


• Proficiency with data analysis, (financial) reporting tools 


• Client-focused attitude; proactive, pragmatic, and focused on problem-solving


• Strong communication skills, especially in English; an ability to convey technical concepts in a succinct and clear way to non-technical stakeholders


• Collaborative mindset; ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional, international environment with a focus on delivering results


• Project management and execution skills; demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex tasks, deliver quality, and meet deadlines; manage priorities
