Job Description - Regional Marketing Director - Central Eastern Europe

Job Description

Reporting to the CEE Region GM, AA. No Direct Reports. This position can be done from Poland, Romania, Czech, UK, Spain, France, Germany, Italy or Greece. 

The position will be the principal connect between Europe & Canada area brand leads and the countries in Central and Eastern Europe by helping countries carry out portfolio prioritization in line with the AA International Marketing strategy and Central and Eastern Europe strategy. This individual will be a member of the AA CEE Regional Leadership Team.

This individual will understand and advocate for country marketing needs. The incumbent will also ensure the percolation of Brand and Launch strategies from IMCO to countries and will help countries get access to tools and resources needed to build Execution Excellence assessing, building and augmenting marketing capabilities in the different countries. In addition, the position may lead regional projects, new product launches and planning.

Main duties and responsibilities

Central and Eastern Europe Portfolio Strategy

  • Partner CEE Regional team (Medical Affairs, Commercial Director, Finance, Training and Distributor Markets Director) to maximize deployment of Brand Plans in line with IMCO strategy.
  • Lead Brand plan preparation across the region, including launch excellence, and support countries with their local tactical plan creation.
  • Ensure marketing country execution is aligned with regional priorities, with robust brand strategies and aligned cross functional tactics. Partnering with local markets on go-to-market/launch strategy including marketing campaigns, communication etc.
  • Liaise back with Europe & Canada brand team to cover local marketing needs.

Capability Building

  • Lead and activate the regional marketing community, fostering a culture aligned with AA values : develop ways we work that would benefit to the whole community, such as best practice and process efficiency, projects groups, etc. Foster a culture of innovation and performance.
  • Maximize marketing capabilities in all the countries to ensure countries have A-class marketing talent with business acumen mindset. Ensure individuals have a targeted plan to develop further their marketing skills, aligned with GM and HR
  • Support in country marketing team in leveraging their cross functional efficiency

Requirements of the candidate:

1. Leadership and Communication Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with Europe & Canada brand leads, International teams and local markets and influence to support needs of CEE markets.
  • Ability to understand and advocate for country marketing needs and align them with regional priorities
  • Ability to lead and activate the regional marketing community, fostering a culture of innovation and performance

2. Marketing Strategy and Execution:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of marketing strategy and brand planning processes
  • Experience in developing brand plans, launch excellence strategies, and local tactical plans
  • Ability to align marketing country execution with regional priorities and ensure robust brand strategies and cross-functional tactics
  • Experience in go-to-market and launch strategies, including marketing campaigns and communication

3. Capability Building and Talent Development:

  • Ability to maximize marketing capabilities in all countries and ensure access to A-class marketing talent with a business acumen mindset
  • Strong understanding of talent development and ability to create targeted plans for marketing skill development
  • Experience in leveraging cross-functional efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

 


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Experience working either in a region or with different countries and cultures would be beneficial. Specific experience in Central and Eastern Europe markets, with knowledge of local markets and business practices would be preferable.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing brand strategies and launch plans

Language and Cultural Competence:

  • Fluent in English and proficiency in other languages spoken in the Central and Eastern Europe region is highly advantageous
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment

Travel:

  • Willingness to travel within the Central and Eastern Europe region and occasionally internationally as required for business needs
