Qualifications
- Understanding of API design & consumption (REST, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger);
- HTTP semantics (status codes, headers, idempotency);
- Working with API gateways (Apigee / IBM API Connect / similar);
- Client credentials, rate limiting, API products;
- Northbound / Southbound API separation;
- Integrating APIs with legacy backends (EAI, ESB, SOAP → REST);
- Handling partial failures and backend inconsistencies;
- Mapping / transformation between schemas;
- Cross‑market integrations (single API → many markets);
- CAMARA / GSMA Open Gateway concepts (high level);
- Working across different markets (RO, PT, ES, etc.);
- Dealing with vendor‑specific quirks behind a common API;
- OAuth2 / Client Credentials;
- mTLS, secrets handling;
- Cloud‑native Basics;
- Containers & Kubernetes (at least integration‑level understanding);
- Staying on recurring and ad‑hoc calls with product owners, network teams, API providers, security and consuming platforms;
- Clarifying API contracts, payload structures, error handling and edge cases in live discussions;
- Aligning expectations between API producers and consumers;
- Ensuring all parties have a shared understanding of responsibilities and ownership;
- Managing application configurations to match expectations.
