Senior Revenue Recognition Specialist

Your Impact:

In this role, you will be a part of the PTC revenue team reporting to the Revenue Recognition Senior Manager. The successful candidate will be a contributor to many departmental goals & objectives. You will regularly interact with multiple cross-functional organizations and you will work closely with colleagues across the organization to understand both revenue recognition complexities and various financial analyses. Ideal candidates will be action-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the ability to analyze complex data, strong communication and collaboration skills are a must.

Your Day-To-Day:

• Interact with Deal Desk, Legal, Operations and Sales during contract negotiations/non-standard deal modelling, understanding different deal structures and identify facts that might impact revenue recognition and reporting
• Perform contract reviews for revenue related contracts applying related accounting guidance to determine appropriate accounting treatment under ASC606 and document conclusions
• Review, recalculate, and analyse the accounting of revenue contracts in the revenue accounting automation system and communicate any required adjustments and/or revenue judgements to the Revenue Accounting team
• Proactively identify issues and process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and where appropriate, work with business partners and management to resolve or assist with implementation to improve efficiency. 
• Create process and procedure documents
• Execute Sox controls and prepare related documentation for management review
• Field research, and respond to international finance teams, business leaders, and management queries and assist with ad hoc projects
• Coordinate and assist with the preparation of documentation to respond to internal and external audit queries for corporate quarterly and annual audits to ensure auditors are receiving required information in an accurate and timely manner.

Your Skills and Knowledge:

• 5-8 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field (Public Accounting firm experience a plus) 
• Knowledge of ASC 606 Accounting regulations or IFRS 15
• Ability to conduct research of accounting literature for compliance under U.S. GAAP
• Strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated expertise working independently on projects, applying judgment and propose solutions for complex accounting issues
• Good communication skills
• Demonstrated expertise utilizing ERP systems and Microsoft Office (strong Excel and PowerPoint skills) to perform analysis and deliver presentations;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Intellectual curiosity and creativity
• Excellent English and good French/Italian/German language skills; other languages represent a plus.
