RIA Solutions Group is looking for a talented SR QA Automation Engineer with a strong analytical mindset to join our team in ensuring the quality of a complex financial platform for a US-based company that provides software solutions used by financial consultants and investment professionals.
Their mission is to empower financial consultants with accurate, reliable, and impactful tools — from investment performance tracking to billing and client reporting — helping them serve their clients with confidence and precision.
The approaches we use are based on Scrum/Agile methodologies; we plan, revise, review, and deploy quarterly demo updates using a Jira Scrum Board and sprints. You'll have the opportunity to work on mission-critical financial features used by professional investors and advisors, a role with a real ownership over high-impact areas of the product and a collaborative environment where QA is a key partner in design and delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Design test strategies for performance pages and dashboards, realized Gain/Loss pages and reports, billing workflows, batches, and revenue reporting, financial report generation and packaging
- Create and maintain detailed manual test cases and regression suites
- Validate complex data scenarios: closed accounts and tax lots, partial or missing data periods, adjustments, backdated changes, and imported performance data
- Develop and maintain automated tests (API, services, UI and/or data-layer) for performance calculation services and related APIs, billing pipelines, batch jobs, and pre‑calculation processes
- Improve the reliability of existing test suites to diagnose and fix flaky or brittle tests and integrate tests into CI/CD and help enforce quality gates
- Analyze and reproduce issues related to incorrect or missing performance, data billing discrepancies or broken batches and RGL and reporting inaccuracies
- Perform end‑to‑end root cause analysis across UI, services, data, and jobs
- Verify fixes and protect against regressions with targeted test coverage
- Become a go‑to person for testing for performance calculations and metrics across different entities and time periods, realized Gain/Loss logic and reporting and billing and revenue outputs, including adjustments and third‑party fee scenarios
- Translate business/functional requirements into clear test strategies and scenarios
- Anticipate edge cases and data integrity issues before they reach production
- Work closely with engineers, product managers, and operations/infrastructure teams
- Mentor other QA engineers on testing data‑heavy and financial workflows
- Advocate for quality planning and design discussions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Solid experience as a Senior QA Engineer / Senior SDET on complex, data‑intensive, or financial systems
- Strong skills in API and service-level testing, UI testing or data-heavy pages and dashboards and SQL and relational databases (querying and validating data)
- Strong experience using Java, TestNG, Maven, Docker, JDBC, XML, JSON, Swagger + API testing
- Experience designing and maintaining automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines
- Comfortable reasoning about time‑series and historical data, edge cases like gaps in data history, closed accounts, and backdated changes
- Clear communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
- Nice to have experience in wealth management, asset management, brokerage, or other investment platforms
- Nice-to-have experience with Scala, Spark, Selenium/ Selenoid, and Playwright with TypeScript
- Exposure to modern backend ecosystems and CI/CD toolchains
- Use AI-assisted testing tools to improve test coverage, efficiency, and defect detection
