System Administrator

Location: Cluj-Napoca, Romania

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our team and ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our IT environment. Our infrastructure is primarily hosted in Microsoft Azure, and we rely on modern collaboration, monitoring, and workflow tools to deliver excellent service across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with cloud-based infrastructure, system configuration, and administration of enterprise applications such as Jira.

• Plan, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, which includes both on-premises and cloud environment.
• Configure, install, and upgrade software and applications, ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Deploy and maintain cloud-native applications and microservices, with a focus on automation and infrastructure-as-code.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments to support development and deployment workflows.
• Implement effective monitoring and threat intelligence measures, including malware protection, firewall policies, and incident response protocols.
• Administer and maintain Azure-based infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and security components.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
• Manage user access, identity, and security policies through Azure Active Directory (AAD).
• Configure and maintain collaboration and productivity platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint).
• Support and configure workflow tools such as Jira, ensuring integration and best practices are followed.
• Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
• Implement and monitor IT security policies, patch management, compliance frameworks and IT asset management.
• Automate repetitive tasks through PowerShell, Terraform, or other scripting tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support software deployments, application hosting, and infrastructure scaling.
• Document infrastructure, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar IT role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage, and security).
• Solid understanding of Azure Active Directory, Intune, and identity/access management.
• Experience managing and configuring Jira, or similar workflow tools.
• Proficiency with Windows Server and/or Linux systems administration.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Grafana, Zabbix).
• Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible).
• Understanding of security best practices and regulatory compliance (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using AI-powered tools to enhance system monitoring, threat detection, and performance optimization (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive analytics).
• Familiarity with AI-enhanced automation platforms and intelligent cloud services (e.g., Azure Cognitive Services, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Claude) to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Understanding of responsible AI usage in enterprise IT environments, ensuring ethical deployment and compliance with data protection standards.
• Proficiency in English

Nice -to - Have Skills

• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
• Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
• Exposure to AI-powered infrastructure tools and services (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, GitHub Copilot) to enhance automation, monitoring, and decision-making.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and how they can be applied to predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, or intelligent alerting in IT operations.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher.
