Job Title: Operational Support Expert

Start Date: Immediate / Short Notice (within 1 month)

Job Overview:

We are urgently seeking experienced Operational Support Experts to provide full-time support in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The selected professionals will work closely with client's operational studies team based in Milan, contributing to a wide range of grid operations and readiness activities. This role requires in-depth experience in electrical power systems operations, a strong understanding of PSS/E studies, and the ability to coordinate and support various network planning and operational tasks.

1. Outages Management

• Annual Outage Plan Coordination

• Critical Outage Requests Coordination

• Outage Schedule Coordination

• Outage Rescheduling

• Weekly Shutdown Requests Management

• Study Scenario Selection and Preparation

• Security Assessments for Outage Planning

• Operation Instructions and Network Arrangement Preparation

2. System Operation

• Daily Network Monitoring and Operational Interventions

• Critical Substations Performance Analysis

• Tap Settings Evaluation and Adjustments

• Voltage Control Recommendations

• Operational Event Analysis and Reporting

3. System Readiness

• Seasonal and Summer Readiness Reviews

• Implementation of Preventive Operational Measures

• Recommendations on Special Protection Schemes (SPS)

4. Reporting and Documentation

• Maintenance of Operational Records

• Preparation of Seasonal Readiness Reports

• Compilation of Monthly and Annual Operational Reports

PSS/E Familiarity:

• Understand core PSS/E functionalities and their role in operational studies

• Able to interpret and apply PSS/E outputs for network operation support

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum Experience: 10 years in electrical transmission system operations, grid planning, or related engineering roles

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

• PSS/E Exposure: Must have awareness of PSS/E calculation features and applications (hands-on use not mandatory)

• Language: English (mandatory); Arabic (advantageous but not essential)

Key Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of electrical transmission systems

• Effective coordination and communication skills

• Experience in outage planning and operational decision-making

• Ability to analyze and recommend solutions for operational events

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
