1. Job Purpose

• The purpose of the Accountant’s job is to oversee all general ledger accounting activities

2. Principal Accountabilities

• Performs a variety of tasks involving routine accounting data and transactions
• Responsibilities can cover one or more of the following (list not exhaustive):
• General Ledger Accounting
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Accrual Accounting
• Analyses for provisions
• Inter-company reconciliations
• Reporting and analyses
• Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing of the ledgers
• Coordination with auditors
• Provides support for the professional development (including training) of direct reports

3. Communications and Working Relationships

• Reports to and supports the Senior Accountant on issues regarding all general ledger accounting activities, and ways for improvement
• Interfaces with the Department Heads for the creation of accounts for new business activities
• Interacts and manages direct reports and operational issues on a daily basis

4. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor in accounting or finance; relevant Master’s degree or CPA is a strong plus
• Minimum 2 years experience in the finance function in a comparable sized operation to ESEC
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory, concepts, and practices
• Demonstrates a successful track record in accounting preferably within a construction company
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Excellent numerical and IT skills
• Fluent in English and preferably Arabic language
