1. Job Purpose
- The purpose of the Accountant’s job is to oversee all general ledger accounting activities
2. Principal Accountabilities
- Performs a variety of tasks involving routine accounting data and transactions
- Responsibilities can cover one or more of the following (list not exhaustive):
- General Ledger Accounting
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Accrual Accounting
- Analyses for provisions
- Inter-company reconciliations
- Reporting and analyses
- Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing of the ledgers
- Coordination with auditors
- Provides support for the professional development (including training) of direct reports
3. Communications and Working Relationships
- Reports to and supports the Senior Accountant on issues regarding all general ledger accounting activities, and ways for improvement
- Interfaces with the Department Heads for the creation of accounts for new business activities
- Interacts and manages direct reports and operational issues on a daily basis
4. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor in accounting or finance; relevant Master’s degree or CPA is a strong plus
- Minimum 2 years experience in the finance function in a comparable sized operation to ESEC
- Strong knowledge of accounting theory, concepts, and practices
- Demonstrates a successful track record in accounting preferably within a construction company
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Excellent numerical and IT skills
- Fluent in English and preferably Arabic language
