Financial Accountant

Job Description

• Process all accounting entries including general ledgers and accounts payable transactions.
• Take ownership of the monthly bookkeeping process for various investment and asset classes, including bank reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
• Oversee cash management, including preparation of wire transfers and coordination of funds movement with financial institutions.
• Prepare a global asset portfolio reporting, comprising property, business shares, private equity and other investments.
• Prepare financial and management reporting package (monthly/quarterly)
• Track and maintain detailed information related to all assets (cash, investments, business interests, real estate, physical assets, etc.).
• Maintain and upkeep the internal CRM and data management system.
• Liaise with audit and zakat advisors to produce end-of-year statutory accounts and zakat returns.
• Participate in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting exercises.
• Identify & implement areas for automation and process improvement.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience within the family office or investment industry.
• Strong general ledger, accounts payable and cash management skills.
• Good understanding of multiple investment types such as properties, real estate, private equity funds and other alternative assets.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet and MS Office, with experience in accounting systems (MS Dynamics preferred).
• Ability to multitask, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are followed through completion.
• Highly adaptable to a loosely structured environment, capable of dealing with new areas.
• Proactive and driven, with close attention to detail.
• Adherence to the highest level of confidentiality.
