About the job

KEY DIMENSIONS: SCOPE & SCALE

  • Portfolio scope is all non-promoted brands that were under the ‘’ Foundation’’ scope along with the Specialty care transferred products to GenMed.
  • The Portfolio Manager is a Member of the GenMed Management Committee team.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Within the MCO, responsible for executing the Cardiometabolic Franchise strategy for non-promoted products with the mandate to maximize BOI.
  • Maximize BOI sustainably through different initiatives and proposals including business cases for pruning, export and distributor models. Conduct financial analyses related to the product portfolio, including revenue forecasts, profitability assessments, and cost management.
  • Lead Portfolio Opportunities:
    • Search & analyze new Business opportunities (internal and external).
    • Prepare and defend their Business Cases internally at the corporate level.
    • Manage the different opportunities to ensure its implementation on time (i.e., divestments, alliances, pricing strategy roll out...)
    • Execute global strategies and proactively propose local initiatives to extend the protection and/or limit sales erosion of products without patent and/or data exclusivity.
    • Optimize resource allocation to maximize the overall performance of the portfolio.
  • Manage the product lifecycle management making recommendations for product modifications or discontinuations based on market trends, competitive landscape and financial performance ensuring relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Perform accurate analysis and high-quality research, implement the Portfolio Segmentation, to provide meaningful solutions and recommendations for actionable measures implementation.
  • Manage all active alliances and partnerships for External Commercial Agreements
  • Reinforce internal and external networks to maximize business opportunities.
  • Lead local divestments and participate in global divestment projects.
  • Coach direct reports, leveraging their strengths and consolidating a high-performance environment.
  • Compliance: Respect corporate commitment and compliance guidelines. Ensure that all products within the portfolio comply   Monitor product compliance and work closely with Pharmacovigilance.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS 

  • Experience in leading large portfolios in scope with cross-internal and external team
    • Important internal and external relations
    • Third-party pharma companies, distribution and promotion partners
    • All business, industrial and support functions
    • Global interaction with M&A and BD, global Franchise portfolio maximization & Divestment team
  • Experience in leading complex project teams involving all business, industrial and support functions.
  • In-depth understanding of the market, competition and future trends, and a good understanding of our value chain
  • Global thinking: able to understand the global framework combined with local execution.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions based on customer needs.
  • People leadership: Ability to coach, develop and manage feedback effectively.
  • Empowerment: Delegation, giving responsibility and lead trustfully
  • Ability to manage relationships across various stakeholders.

About you

  • Experience : 5 - 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Education : bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or other Healthcare related education 
  • Technical skills :
  • P&L understanding,
  • Highly complex project management,
  • Track record in strategic and implementation
  • Divestment deals with the execution of a good understanding of the non-promoted products' dynamic.
  • Soft skills :
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills as well as influence, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Negotiation skills notably with existing external partnerships/ Alliances
  • Languages : Fluency in both Arabic and English
