IBM Cognos Solution Developer

Summary:
The main function of an Cognos developer is to analyze, design, develop, and support initiatives to deliver Cognos frameworks enabling end user reporting capabilities as well as advanced reporting development and data analysis by power users and Business Intelligence analysts. Job Responsibilities: • Hands on development and implementation of large information systems with a focus on complex business units.
• Develop complete range of BI capabilities: reporting, analysis, score carding and dashboards.
• Design and develop complex report - Complex Drill-Through, Cascading Prompts, Summary Reports, Burst Reports.
• Display aptitude in unearthing and understanding various business units, their analytical needs, and how to translate those needs to tangible BI solutions Related Skills/Experience: • Hands on report development with Cognos Report Studio leveraging the functionality of Report Studio along with good SQL skills (MDX skills nice to have)
• Experience creating canned reports, dashboards against relational as well as OLAP data sources
• Experience creating drill thru, master detail reports.
• Experience in performance tuning reports and data validation in Cognos reports by writing SQL against the database.
• Working and/or conceptual knowledge with Cognos Framework Manager (Metadata modeling tool), dimensional modeling including DMR and cubes.
• Development and design of information systems and deep technical knowledge in relevant technology.
• Experience in data warehousing and business intelligence with emphasis on business requirements analysis, application design, and development, testing, implementation and maintenance of data warehouse and data mart systems.
• Experience with Cognos Tools
• Experience with development of metadata modeling using Cognos Framework Manager.
• Expertise with Cognos Administration and security.
