Liaise/Cooperate With: NGHC O&M-SPV+BESS-GHE-PTR, Sec and ENOWA
POSITION SUMMARY
Transmission Maintenance Engineer shall supervise and lead the maintenance team of 4.2 GW of 380kV Transmission grid network system at Neom Green Hydrogen Plant. Prepare preventive/Emergency maintenance & restoration program and follow up implementation procedures thereof. Sets the shift schedule and assignments. Classify, assort, document and archive results and work’s reports. Follow-up maintenance type and nature determination procedures; estimate quantity and cost of required materials.
NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are:
- Supervise maintenance staff and third-party maintenance contractors and report the performance in accordance with established Maintenance KPIs
- Develop and review maintenance procedures, checklists inline with O&M Manual and OEM Recommendations
- Timely identify all requirements for Transmission Lines maintenance
- Develop and conduct training plans for maintenance staff
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
- Prepare the maintenance requirements (preventive, corrective, condition-based and predictive) and maintenance plans over the design life of Power Transmission Lines in accordance with O&M Manual, OEM Recommendations and good practices.
- Assist Construction & QC with inspection and punch lists of installation and vendor packages.
- Review mechanical completion for systems and sub-systems packages.
- Organise and document pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for the asset maintenance.
- Review and ensure that the TurnOver Packages / Final Documentation is complete from maintenance perspective.
- Assign jobs to the maintenance staff and maintain reporting system which provides sufficient data to ensure that maintenance is being performed inline with maintenance plans.
- Responsible for initiating changes in maintenance procedures to ensure more optimized, safer, and reliable operations.
- Strictly follow the Change Management procedure and perform the roles as assigned under the procedure.
- Support for root-cause-analysis for any abnormal / tripping conditions and submit recommendations.
- Analyse the data from Condition Monitoring System and revise maintenance strategy, if required.
- Contribute to the preparation of the maintenance budget and submit recommendations with cost-benefit analysis.
- Prepare and ensure proper and effective allocation and development of human resources to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Ensure strict compliance with environmental & social management system and communication to HSE for any near-misses, incidents, accidents, and non-conformance reporting.
- Investigate any maintenance non-conformances / deviations and implement corrective actions / preventive actions.
- Evaluate the performance of maintenance staff and identify competency / skill-set gaps
- Arrange and organize team’s classroom / on-job / refresher trainings.
- Always ensure the proper use of PPE and other safety equipment, as provided in safety manual.
- Ensure that PTW and LOTO procedure are implemented effectively.
- Coordinate and participate in the emergency mock drills.
- Coordinate activities with other departments and staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Supervises maintenance workers and contractors.
- Organizes and leads maintenance trainings.
- Sets the maintenance shift schedule as needed and assignments.
- Participate in Development of maintenance policies, work instructions and procedures.
- Orders tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Responds to maintenance requests.
- Makes sure to execute maintenance tasks as per schedule.
- Leads safety inspections at worksites.
- Performs maintenance work as needed.
- Evaluates worksites to determine necessary maintenance work.
- Escalates issues to management and recommends solutions.
- Ensures the team follows all company policies and procedures.
- Makes sure the team adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety regulations.
- Must be familiar with standards CMMS systems such as SAP etc.
SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
- Good knowledge of maintenance of EHV / MV Substation equipment, Cabling Works as well as instrumentation and SCADA equipment.
- Basic understanding and concept of operational activities.
- Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles.
- Knowledge of managing HSE emergencies.
- Good decision making, analytical and technical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
- Good organization, prioritization, and time management skills to monitor and handle complex tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or higher
- Must have a minimum 5 years of directly related operations experience, such as power system operations, power plant operations, substation operations, and transmission operations.
DESIRED EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Knows maintenance best practices as per SEC practice.
- Should know time management and organization skills.
- Skills to Manage maintenance other staff and has strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
