Procurement Engineer

Procurement Engineer Job Location : Saudi Arabia Responsibilities: • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements, specifications, and timelines for procurement activities.
• Source and qualify suppliers for equipment, materials, and services required for engineering projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, including assessment of capabilities, quality management systems, and performance history, to select reliable and competent vendors.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, and other project documentation to identify procurement needs and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and invitations to bid (ITBs) for procurement of goods and services, ensuring clarity and completeness of requirements.
• Evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions, and finalize contracts to secure favourable terms and maximize value for the organization.
• Coordinate with suppliers to track order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve issues related to quality, quantity, or timeliness of deliveries.
• Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and contract management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including ethical and legal standards.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reports to track procurement activities, expenditures, and supplier performance metrics. Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical), or a related field. Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are advantageous.
• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or engineering project management, preferably in an engineering or construction environment.
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, materials specifications, and project requirements.
• Proficiency in procurement processes, including sourcing strategies, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Analytical mind-set with the ability to analyse technical specifications, evaluate supplier capabilities, and make data-driven procurement decisions.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance tracking.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to procurement, engineering, and construction projects.
• Commitment to integrity, ethical conduct, and professionalism in all procurement activities and interactions.
