JOB DESCRIPTION: * QAQC Coating Inspector The QAQC Coating Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of coating applications on various structures and equipment. This role involves inspecting, testing, and documenting coating processes to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Coating Inspection Conduct thorough visual inspections of coating applications to ensure they meet project requirements and quality standards. Perform inspections at different stages of the coating process, including surface preparation, primer application, intermediate coats, and topcoats. Verify that coatings are applied within specified environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness, etc.). 2.Documentation Maintain detailed records of coating inspection activities, including photographs, test results, and inspection reports. Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to document coating work progress and quality compliance. 3.Testing and Analysis Conduct various coating tests, including adhesion tests, dry film thickness measurements, holiday detection, and visual assessments. Analyze test results to identify defects, non-conformities, or areas requiring rework. 4.Compliance and Standards Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards (e.g., SSPC, NACE), and relevant safety regulations. Recommend corrective actions and assist in implementing necessary changes to meet quality requirements. 5.Communication Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve coating- related issues. Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally to relevant parties. 6.Quality Assurance Monitor and enforce quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of coating quality. Participate in quality audits and assessments. 7.Safety Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during coating inspections. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly. 8.Training and Development Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices in coatings technology. Participate in relevant training programs to enhance knowledge and skills. QUALIFICATIONS: Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; additional technical certifications or coursework in coatings technology is an advantage. Proven experience as a coating inspector or a related role in a construction or industrial setting. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing coatings (e.g., SSPC, NACE). Proficiency in using coating inspection equipment and tools (e.g., thickness gauges, etc.,). Strong attention to detail and ability to identify coating defects and discrepancies. Excellent communication and reporting skills. Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining a safe work environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend and implement corrective actions. The QAQC Coating Inspector plays a pivotal role in ensuring the durability, longevity, and quality of coated surfaces, contributing to the overall success of construction and maintenance projects.
