Resident Engineer

Job description: We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to join our Engineering Consultancy team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the on-site construction activities of a major project, ensuring quality, and adherence to specifications, schedule, and budget. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams. Responsibilities: • Manage and supervise all construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and safety standards. • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve any technical issues or challenges that may arise during the construction process. • Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of work and identify any potential defects or deviations from the project requirements. • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, inspection records, and change orders. • Collaborate with the project management team to develop and implement effective construction schedules and timelines. • Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team, and implement best practices to optimize project efficiency and quality.

Requirements

Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Civil/ Architectural Engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus. • Minimum 10+ years of proven experience working as a Resident Engineer or in a similar role within a consultancy environment and not a contractor. • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as relevant local and international building codes and regulations. • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project deadlines. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. • Solid problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure. • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and construction management systems • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic language skills. • Willingness to relocate • Must have a Valid SCE Membership
