• Prepare pricing estimates, including developing a takeoff of all material and labor required for the project. This takeoff will be combined with outside vendor pricing to produce a complete project cost estimate
• Prepare detailed estimates, proposals and furnish complete notes, conditions, exclusions, inclusions, assumptions and deviations as per the client requirements.
• Superior proficiency in estimation preparation techniques.
• Work with outside vendors to request and receive project-specific pricing to meet firm deadlines
• Checking contract documents, RFI's, specifications, etc. to ensure drawings are accurate
• Adhere to applicable building codes and company design standards
• Coordinate with operations and outside vendors on how the job is to be built in both our shop and in the field
• Coordinate with the customer to help ensure we are providing a complete package with a thorough understanding of the project schedule and project-specific requirements
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
• Job duties include reviewing blueprints from the architects or civil engineers; making estimates about the quantity, safety needs, and costs of the steel; and reporting to lead managers
• Maintain and update estimating statistics, methods and data, providing a comprehensive and reliable source of information.
• Minimum bachelors level degree in Construction Management, Structural / Civil Engineering is preferred
• 5+ years in the structural steel construction industry, preferably Design/Build and/or industrial and commercial construction
• 3+ years of estimating / cost estimating management experience in GCC same field
• Position requires long durations committed to independent reading and computation. Strong concentration skills are necessary
• Basic understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices including knowledge of structural shapes and general industry terminology
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents including design drawings and specification documents. Ability to understand the construction codes as per requirement and standards.
• Experience with Tekla/CAD is preferred
• Microsoft software applications including MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Emphasis on the ability to manipulate Excel spreadsheets.
• Excellent math, geometry skills, reading, writing, and communication skills with diverse audiences
• Highly organized and efficient time management
• Friendly personality and willing to work as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting stringent deadlines
• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to focus on given tasks
