Summary
Directs the overall administration of Housing Services. Assesses Hospital Housing needs and forecasts future requirements. Develop strategic plans and recommends proposals based on changing needs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Develops short and long-range plans for Housing. Determines the most effective methods of Housing resources utilization. Prepares budget forecasts. Initiates developments of cost containment program.
2. Conducts studies of housing usage, availability and cost. Makes projections for housing requirements based on anticipated numbers of employees, and demographic factors such as number of single males and females, married employees and countries of origin. Determines the most cost effective methods of employee’s housing, i.e. granting housing allowance or providing Hospital housing.
3. Develops, modifies and implements systems for housing assignment priorities of residents. Ensures that systems are administered fairly and employee-oriented. Recommends required changes and execute the changes.
4. Develops, modifies, and implements departmental policies and procedures to meet changing needs. Develops guidelines for housing personnel to meet the needs of residents. Establishes goals and objectives and monitors achievements based upon the Hospital strategic objectives.
5. Obtains data regarding housing availability in the local market. Negotiates rents and services. Ensures that housing property owners meet contractual obligations. Evaluates equipment, furnishings and furnishings and household appliances needed in housing facilities. Submits recommendations regarding purchases of new items, and participates in price negotiations.
6. Serves as the principal resource person of Hospital Administration. Prepares periodic accomplishment reports that include statistics related to cost, housing distribution and utilization of departmental resources.
7. Coordinates activities of the department with other departments in the Hospital. Acts in advisory capacity to the senior management of the Hospital. Acts as coordinator for the Housing Committee, and other work groups/task force related to housing affairs
EducationMaster’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline is required.
Experience RequiredNine (9) years with Master’s including four (4) years in a senior/supervisory position, or eleven (11) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required
