Business Need / Purpose of Role

The  Senior Operations Executive – Liner Services  reporting to the Liner Services Manager based out of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, shall be responsible for a smooth vessel operation by coordinating with Planners, Feeder operators, and terminals in order to ensure timely berth booing, crane booking, and feeder connections by complying with all HL Ops.

Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities

• Documents Verifications – receive copies of the rate proposals from Liner Principals, verify such documents and place order for the containers in order to collect the appropriate charges.
• Liaising with the Port of loading to rectify any discrepancies, collate the manifest documents and notify the consolidators accordingly.
• Conduct verification of documents related to customs requirements to ensure smooth custom clearance process and prepare documents using SHIPS applications in order to create portfolio to all clients and customers.
• Maintains and updates ETA records of Feeder vessels used by the Liner / forwarding Principals in order to answers all customer inquiries on the ETA of such shipments.
• Handles and resolves routine customer queries and issues regarding shipments and refers issues to the Liner Services Manager when appropriate in order to maintain smooth procedures and compliance to objectives set by the company.

• Keeping track / report of import containers returned by consignee.
• Keeping track / report of export containers picked by shippers.
• Ensuring all cost related to operations from terminal / principal & customers are in place and correct.

• Identify, understand, and meet internal customer needs by demonstrating high level of commitment and applying maximum efforts to achieve results to the highest quality standards thus maintaining and exceeding customer satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Being able to communicate verbally/writing in a clear and concise manner.
• Balance multiple tasks, changing priorities & operate within a deadline-oriented environment.
• Good interpersonal relationship in managing people/sub-ordinates, planning, organizing. 
• Excellent customer management skill.
• Self-driven, organized, good communication skills.
• Strong planning and coordination skills.
• Communication and building rapport with all kinds of people.
• Have a global perspective and be progressive thinking.

Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses

• A relevant academic certificate would be appreciated.
• Understanding customs clearance requirements, including but not limited to customs declaration and manifesting. 
• 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role within the Liner services is desirable.
• Conversant with the local ports’ operations process and procedures.
• Having a valid driver’s license.
