Job Description - Radiation Safety Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Radiation Safety Program: Develop, implement, and manage a robust radiation safety program that adheres to stringent regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections and audits of radiation sources, equipment, and facilities to ensure strict adherence to applicable radiation safety regulations, licenses, permits, and guidelines.
  • Radiation Safety Policies and Procedures: Develop, review, and update comprehensive radiation safety policies, procedures, and protocols to guarantee compliance with regulatory mandates and foster a safe working environment.
  • Training and Education: Provide comprehensive training and education programs to employees, covering radiation safety awareness, proper handling and storage of radioactive materials, and emergency response procedures.
  • Radiation Monitoring: Oversee and perform radiation monitoring activities, including routine surveys, environmental monitoring, and personal dosimetry, to assess radiation exposure levels and identify potential sources of contamination or radiation leakage.
  • Recordkeeping and Reporting: Meticulously maintain accurate records and documentation pertaining to radiation safety, including radioactive material inventory, personnel doses, inspections, incidents, and training records. Prepare comprehensive reports for regulatory agencies as mandated.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective collaboration with internal departments, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication, coordination, and compliance with radiation safety requirements.
  • Awareness of Radiation Safety Regulations: Remain up to date on relevant radiation safety regulations, guidelines, and industry trends. Implement necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous enhancement of the radiation safety program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, radiation safety, nuclear science, or Related field.
  • Hold NRRC license in Nuclear Gauge.
  • Years of Experience from 1 to 3 years.
  • Priority for experienced Saudis.
