Junior Sushi Chef

Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge of sushi preparation and a keen interest in Japanese cuisine. Under the supervision of our Senior Sushi Chef, you will assist in all aspects of sushi preparation and presentation, ensuring each dish meets our high standards of quality and authenticity.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and presentation of sushi and sashimi dishes in line with the restaurant's standards.
Learn and master the skills of sushi making, including rice cooking, fish slicing, and rolling techniques.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sushi preparation area.
Follow food safety and hygiene protocols strictly.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies.
Continuously learn about Japanese cuisine and sushi-making techniques to improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a sushi chef or completion of a culinary training program with a focus on Japanese cuisine is preferred.
Strong understanding of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese culinary traditions.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards.
A passion for Japanese cuisine and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.
