Responsible for overall functioning of Department of Ambulance Services Ensures proper level of patient care and equipment maintenance Participates in clinical/technical duties and prepares presentations/proposals

Responsibilities
• Accountable for complete operation of Ambulance Services Department • Schedules subordinates and maintains optimum efficiency • Coordinates training and assists with orientation of new staff • Ensures safe work practices and required supplies/materials • Reviews employment applications and collaborates on patient care models • Follows Performance Improvement models for patient care and efficiency • Dedicates 60% of time to clinical/technical duties • Prepares and administers department budget • Participates in self and others' education and training • Follows Hospital policies and procedures
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Services • Completion of Paramedic Program meeting US Department of Transportation guidelines • Registered Paramedic with ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification • Minimum 6 years recent experience as Paramedic, including 2 years in supervisor capacity • Strong experience in EMS management and system building • Background in policy, training, and healthcare management preferred • Departmental management experience preferred over field management
