We are searching for an experienced Transportation Manager at our MEDLOG Saudi Arabia - Ad Dammam facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Transportation Manager is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and effective movement and maintenance of a fleet. This position involves a broad range of responsibilities, including logistics planning and execution, compliance with regulations, fleet management, and team leadership. A Transportation Manager must design and implement logistics plans that optimize routes, schedule, and coordinate the movement of the fleet, overseeing vehicle acquisition, maintenance, repairs, and ensuring that the fleet operates within budget. Additionally, they must lead and manage a team of drivers, and other staff, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that all team members are properly trained and adhere to safety standards. Effective Transportation Managers are skilled in time management, cost control, and risk mitigation, all of which are crucial for the success of transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overseeing the daily operations of fleet movement and ensuring efficient route planning.
2. Managing the logistics of vehicle assignments and load scheduling for optimal delivery times.
3. Coordinating maintenance schedules and regular vehicle inspections for safety and to ensure all vehicles are in top working condition.
4. Monitoring driver performance and ensuring proper training is provided.
5. Ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards.
6. Leading, managing, and developing a team of transportation experts including training and managing performance.
7. Addressing any transportation-related problems, such as delays, collisions, or customer complaints, by putting the right solutions into place.
8. Trucks and trailers acquisition, record management, and maintenance.
9. Ensuring to have the required Licensing.
10. Resolving customer concerns and providing conscious updates.
11. Controlling Expenses and Making sure to run a profitable trucking business.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain is preferable.

Minimum Experience: A minimum of related 5 years’ experience, as operation planner or transportation supervisor.

Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Strong familiarity with industry best practices, logistical operations, and transportation laws. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Intermediate to excellent verbal and written English – Bilingual (Arabic/English). Ability to adjust and be flexible in the face of unforeseen difficulties or changes in transportation operations.
